Today, we highlight this brand new roof project near me in Star, where the entire roofing system was replaced with a new roof and GAF HDZ Charcoal Shingles. Keep reading as we will guide you through this project and you can see how the process works!

Roof Repairs vs New Roof in Star:

Like most roof calls we service in Star, and the Treasure Valley, this homeowner reached out to discuss a leaky roof. Upon further inspection, a plastic vent was found to be causing the leak. As you can see in the photo above, the roof has over 12 vents and several pipecollars which are always areas of potential roof leak issues.

Upon further inspection, this roof was very worn out, and while a repair could temporarily fix the issue, it was only a matter of time before a new roof would be required. The age of the previous asphalt shingle roof was between 18 and 20 so it had already outlived the average shingled roof lifespan.

After consulting with the homeowner, it made sense to replace the roof and our expert team made it happen!

This was truly a fun roofing project! Due to the size and complexity of the roof, the homeowner was glad they partnered with us so we could offer them affordability but, more importantly, quality workmanship. With six different ridge areas, 12 vents, and multiple gable roof features (cross, open, etc), this project required expertise.

As usual, we stripped the roof down to the decking, removing all components of the previous asphalt roofing system, including shingles, underlayment, ridge vents, and caps. Next, we installed underlayment, new modern vents (metal), ice, and water shield, all before the architectural shingle installation.

Once our team inspected the quality of the underlayment, adding the shingles with the proper nail patterns was the next step. The homeowner went with the GAF HDZ charcoal shingles (read more here). The results were amazing!
